Bahia terá primeira gigafábrica de baterias de lítio da América Latina
Investimento Estratégico na Bahia
A Bravo Motor Company, fundada pelo arquiteto argentino Miguel Angel Bravo, anunciou a instalação da primeira gigafábrica de baterias de lítio da América Latina na Bahia, com um investimento de R$ 1,27 bilhão. Inicialmente planejada para Minas Gerais, a fábrica foi transferida para a Bahia devido ao apoio econômico e às políticas claras do estado em relação à eletromobilidade e hidrogênio.
Parceria e Localização
A parceria estratégica foi firmada na presença de Eduardo Javier Muñoz, CEO da Bravo Motor Company, e autoridades do município de São Sebastião do Passé, onde a fábrica será construída. A cidade está a 35 km de Camaçari, onde a BYD também instalará uma fábrica de carros elétricos.
Produção e Capacidade
A fábrica produzirá células de bateria de lítio para veículos elétricos e sistemas de armazenamento de energia (BESS). A capacidade inicial será de 1 GWh por ano, com previsão de aumento para 5 GWh até 2027. O investimento inicial de US$ 110 milhões (R$ 548,3 milhões) criará 450 empregos. A expectativa é que a demanda latino-americana atinja 45 GWh anuais até 2030, com foco em veículos pesados e leves.

A decisão de mudar a fábrica de Minas Gerais para a Bahia foi influenciada pela diferença nas políticas econômicas dos estados. Enquanto a Bahia apresentou maior clareza e suporte, Minas Gerais teve uma postura menos favorável, conforme observado nas declarações do governador Romeu Zema.
Perspectivas Futuras
A Bravo Motor Company visa garantir a liderança do Brasil na transição energética e na descarbonização da economia com esta gigafábrica. A empresa, que fabricou protótipos de carros elétricos na Argentina e depois se estabeleceu nos EUA, agora expande suas operações no Brasil com parceiros renomados como Rockwell Automation, SMC Automação do Brasil, ABB, AI-Bess Technology e EVE Energy Co Ltda.
